Glad Old School brought up the amount of time on the road. It really is true. The longer periods someone stays out before going home will earn more money than those staying out shorter preiods.

The top earners in the industry stay out 6 to 8 weeks minimum. While it's not for everyone it does work for some people. My brother and I stay out 6 to 8 weeks. Seems just about right for the both of us. Maximizing our total earnings and miles while maximizing our home time.

We have the same amount of times off as everyone else except we take 7 to 8 days off where other people get 3 to 4 days off. Same time off and 0 restarts. That's right. 0 restarts. Just like old school trucking. We run recap the entire time out but the only way that works out is if the planners do their job and watch our HOS ,which they do a good job of.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
