I went over to that "other site" for about twenty minutes.... I think I will now put a bullet in my head.....

rofl-3.gif That's how I've always felt about it. I don't believe I've ever completed reading even one conversation over there and I haven't even bothered trying in a few years. The handful of decent people you may come across aren't worth finding when you realize that after 5 minutes your stomach is in knots from all of the negativity, confrontation, and B.S.

I agree. It's one thing to politely disagree with someone else, it's another thing completely to name call and make accusations because you have a different opinion or experience.

Stick with this forum...it's a win. (did I brownnose enough there, Brett?)

There is some good info on Truckers Report. You just have to wade through the BS. And ignore certain posters.

And take any company recommendations with a grain of salt, as there are some on there that embellish their experiences to try to get you to put their name on the application so they can get the referral bonus.

This is true. THere are some nice, experienced folks over there. Problem is that the rabble can run people off. I dare say some of the people moderating or in some position of authority are also part of the rabble. I"m sure the owner of Trucker's Report had good intentions with the site initially. Their mission statement is basically to act as a counter to the DAC report, i.e. to be a DAC report for truckers so to speak, on companies. Problem with that is that you're opening a pandora's box of complainers, negativity, and slanderers. For me, they failed on their mission. Not sure if it was even a doable mission. First and foremost, that place needs better moderators - it's like the wild west over there. And unfortunately, I'm sure they scared off a lot of would-be drivers that might just be too impressionable and not have the ability to chew up the meat and spit out the bones.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
