Training, Training, TRAINING!

Welp I know its been awhile since I posted. Ive so far had 3 students. One lasted a day because she lied about a aerious medical condition. The second lasted a week before she quit because it "wasnt for her" but we were in Cali so it took another week to get her home. With her we drove 7900 miles in 12 days! Tonight is my last night with my first official student that completed training. Its been a worldwind 3 1/2 weeks and ya know what Im excited for her and sad at the same time. I think im gonna miss her. We had a few scheduling conflicts so we didnt get to run as hard as we could of but Im glad. A tired redgator sure isnt a nice gator. Im sure she learned alot from me but I know I learned alot from her. Its amazing how far Ive come in my career. Too get to be with someone from the beginning and relive the start of this career is so crazy. The professional ups and downs and personal ones too. This process really is life changing. We started in WI and worked our way to the NE. For a girl from GA that sure was a culture shock for here. She ended up in a hotel for a few days because I already had hometime scheduled. It was my oldest baby girls birthday. Theres 3 holidays a yr that I wont miss. My girls birthdays and Christmas. After that we came back to the midwest and she got to experience a pick up and delivery in the Caves of MO. We then headed to GA to run regional so that she wouldnt miss her oldest daughters graduation. Friday night we left to pick a beer load in Cartersville, GA drop/hook in Columbus, Ohio with a new load headed back here for her Tuesday test out. Like I told her the fun has just begun. The first month solo will make or break you. I enjoyed having her in my truck and if it wasnt for her smoking habit we sure would make a great team. But alas every baby bird has to fly the coop eventually. Besides if I dont kick her out this truck I wont be able to fit in it anymore! Shes making me fluffier than I already was lol. True story: We went to pick up our beer load at Anheuser-Busch in Columbus. They wont let you leave if your over gross and we were 80200. I told her to get out and see what he said cause I really didn't feel like being reworked. All the sudden she steps out and we are only 80040. So I step out to tell her what happended and miraculously we were under gross weighing 79980! So we were legal as long as we weren't in the truck! At that point we both decided it was soup, salad and water from here on out! If we would have had to scale I would have had to just tell mr. Dot that it said the gross of the truck and trailer had to be 80000 it doesnt say anything about the driver so I need to get out while he weighs us I still cant get over it. Just one of those stories to tell. I was informed 2 days ago that on Friday I get a new student so I have a new little birdie to take under my wing and a whole new adventure to begin. Glad to hear you're getting some students now. I'm sure they will be well prepared when they have to get on their own.

Redgator a lot of us drivers are on the fluffy side. As long as you don't start waddeling when you walk. You'll be fine.
