I found some companies that will let me drive in the summers and let me go to school in the fall and spring. Conway was one of them and western express was another.

Driving a truck part time? That thought never would have crossed my mind till I read this. I could not imagine surviving an entire year on what a driver makes in three months time. Assuming you will have loans and grants to take care of your schooling and books and food and housing. It's doable I guess but I would not want to try and make $6000 stretch 12 months. That's a lot of Top Ramon noodles almost for every meal.

I still live at home so that part I'm not worried about. Its also not not really for the money its for my passion of trucking and just being able to do it plus it beats bagging groceries or flipping burgers during the summer right?

Just remember most companies only allow certain amount of time off. Only driving for 3 months a year you will end up having to go through the hiring process each time to go an start driving. Better check out our this.

Inactive status is not so bad then but you will still have to do paper work anyway which is more of a formality than anything to keep your file up to date.
