...brings back memories of when I got my first "4 wheeler's" driver's license when I was 16. What an exciting accomplishment! I am so looking forward to getting trucking experience now...thinking of asking around the farm neighborhood where I live for some experience, but I REALLY want to go to trucking school to get some solid training experience. I am so looking forward to this career. I know it will have it's tough times and stresses like I've read about, but I believe, all in all, I will love it! SO HAPPY! smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

Congratulations Momof9kids! I am still working trough the High Road training info on here. I am hoping to start CDL school in September as I am trying to get things wrapped up at my current job. We are in our bus season right now but it will slow WWWAAAYYYY down come September. I want to be on my way out of the door when that happens! Let us know how things go!

Congrats, Mom! In addition to being awesome for you, you're setting a great example for your kids - to aim high, set a goal, and go after it!

Yup....that CDL A Permit is better than a college master's Degree !!!! Well....for those of us who want adventure between white lines on the asphalt ribbon... So you really do need to go to a CDL school....you have to go to a certified school, or the trucking companies that run all over won't hire you...well, their insurance companies won't LET them hire you...So buckle down,,, go thru the High Road....and get into a certified trucking school..but check out your options....there are WIA grants that will pay for your schooling thru the employment office, if you aren't working. There are community colleges that offer CDL training...theres private CDL schools...and then theres trucking company schools....SO look thru your options, and make a plan !!!!!!

Companies like seeing those lady drivers....we are sought after for our work ethics...
