Hey Daniel I choose to go lease at prime heck it took me going and asking how do I get into leasing. Cause they don't tell u anything about unless u ask about it.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

No sour grapes guys but the way it was for me. My recruiter talked to me about leasing more than once. I kept saying I wanted to be a company driver and go team but there was only one person on my team. I came off the road 35 years ago after my second husband was killed because I did not want to be a solo driver. As far as advise I've always asked for and took it to heart. I strive to do my best but sometimes your best just isn't good enough. How many of you got double clutching and down sifting in three days driving a total of 15 hours? How many of you had someone hollering at you if you asked a question? Or had your question ignored? I'm thankful that I'm not with Prime because I have an oppertunity to go to work for the USPS making 16.25 an hour. Wishing you all the best.

Double Clutch:

To engage and then disengage the clutch twice for every gear change.

When double clutching you will push in the clutch, take the gearshift out of gear, release the clutch, press the clutch in again, shift the gearshift into the next gear, then release the clutch.

This is done on standard transmissions which do not have synchronizers in them, like those found in almost all Class A trucks.

Ah so we get down to the real story. It was the trainer doing it. Not Prime. Amazing how that little piece of info would have been very helpful.

So yeah there are always bad trainers out there.

Ok, let's be clear here. There is no law against mentioning a lease program...even more than once. That's not a concern. But the original comment that started this conversation was that the recruiter said she had to lease. It's always possible to get a rogue recruiter who might try to pigeonhole someone into leasing, but I highly suspect that person wouldn't have a job long at Prime because that's not their culture.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
