If I have a wife or girlfriend and she wants to ride with me while I drive, are there any rules or regulations for or against that?

Some companies allow it, but only for immediate family like a spouse. I don't think a girlfriend would be allowed. That's what I've seen from my research online of different companies. The veterans will give you a more accurate answer.

Some allow only family while others allow anyone but in any guess you will have to pay the extra insurance for them to ride along

My wife rides with me. It cost me 150$ taken out of a paycheck. However the pet policy is 500$, 50$ taken out every paycheck. Anyone within your desired company should be able to tell you.
