Should I Be Concerned?

I'm somewhat young (24) and I'm concerned about some of my past driving citations. It's easy for me to say it's nothing major but would companies see it that way? When I was 18 I left my car unattended and never paid the ticket I recieved. That rolled into a suspended license. I was pulled over and was charged with driving on a suspended license. Almost a year to the day I was pulled over for the same suspension. Needless to say I learned my lesson and had no others citations until recently when on March 12, 2014 I totalled my car on the way to work. I was ticketed for not having insurance. I was in a hard place and was seriously struggling financially. I had even gone to Belle tire a week before because I had a feeling my cars tires needed some improvements. I couldn't afford the work needed but kept the reciept and still have it. I have no legit reason to justify not having insurance, but will companies take into consideration that my tires were in horrible condition and I was making moves to repair them?

I should also add that when I was 16 I ran a stop sign. That was also 8 years ago, and I currently have no points against my driving record what so ever.

If I were you, I'd pull your driving record from you state DMV. In PA, it cost like $5 for a digital copy. It's best to see how it is classified according to your driving record, then you can take that information and call companies you are interested in. They will tell you if it's a problem or not. Some recruiters are more patient and knowledgeable than others, but you can bet that if you get a few responses that are the same, it'll likely be that way for the majority of the companies. This forum has lots of friendly, knowledgeable drivers, but you should be asking these questions w/ potential employers.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

I have it pulled already. Michigan doesn't have a DMV we only use the Secretary of State, and it was $9. I'm sure each company has their own way of dealing with it, I guess I'm wondering if any drivers had the same issue and how they handled it.

Suspensions are not viewed kindly in the industry - though "failure to comply" suspensions, are "less unfavorable" than points suspensions or "serious offenses" (DUI's, etc.).

If there were no "moving violations" for 3+ years - you might have a shot.

When was the last suspension cleared? And (none of my business really) but if you were cited for "driving on a suspended", then a year later cited AGAIN for the same suspension - that means you were driving for 1+ years ON a suspended.

You definitely want to discuss your driving record with recruiters.

My first was 09/20/2010 i was charged with Misdemeanor (operating - license suspended, revoked, denied.) The second was 03/01/2011 same charge.

Michigan had a responsibility fee system where you would pay 500 one year and two payments of 200 and then repeat the next year. Along with a reinstatement fee of 125. Im not sure if thats exactly how it was , but it was pretty close. They no longer do it this way I know it recently changed. Needless to say my priorities weren't great. Looking at the dates they're only 5 months apart.
