Hey everyone new here and I have a few questions as I'm just getting ready to go to a trucking school here in Oregon. I was just wondering about a few misdemeanors that I have on my record 1 happened about 20 years ago I trusted someone who I thought was my friend to drive my car so he could go to a job interview and he stole some gas with it and blamed me. I ended up doing a weekend in jail because of it. The other one happen about 15 years ago when I got caught driving with an expired license that I didn't realize had expired. I have not had a traffic violation in the last 7 plus years now and really would like to know how these mistakes that I made in my past will effect my chances of getting a good job in the industry.

Thanks

Hello Travis, and welcome to the forum!

These things are old enough that they shouldn't give you much of a problem, but here's what you want to do when you Apply For Truck Driving Jobs. Be honest and up front when they want to know about any criminal background. Don't be worried about telling them what happened, and you can explain it just like you did to us. These offenses are old enough that they might not even be looking back that far, but it is a well established fact that if they find something that you didn't tell them about, you will barely have a chance. If you do tell them about it, and they confirm it, they only consider it in your favor that you are going to be an honest employee. I wouldn't let it bother me too much.

Hey if you want to get ahead start on school and find yourself at the head of the class, you really should get yourself started on the High Road Training Program, it will help you tremendously.
