Ron, I come across Cypress drivers all the time. I especially see them while loading sheetrock at the many USG sheetrock facilities. They all seem to be fairly satisfied and are getting all the miles they want. Some of their equipment is getting a little aged, but it is well maintained. I'm sure if you are a hard working individual with the wits and the will to succeed you could do just fine there.
I'm not sure why you made this statement:
I`m planning to start school in January and want to do flat bedding and from what I see is that this the only company that will take a recent grad.Thank you everyone..awsome site
There are plenty of flat-bed companies out there who will take on new graduates. Maverick, TMC, Boyd Bros., Prime,, Roehl, Melton, and Western Express are just a few that come to my mind, and I know that there are some others.
Where are you located? If you are in the Northern portion of Florida, Cypress may be a good choice for you to get home a little easier.
I live in southwest florida,I`ve done reseach on those companies and they don`t hire south of tampa.I`m not to concerned about the hometime to start,I just want concentrate on getting experiance.Thank you old school
Okay Ron, yeah your location is a little tough for flat-bed companies. I know there is another flat-bed company out of Florida that I'm familiar with, but for some reason I can't recall the name of it right now. I'm not sure if they will hire inexperienced drivers though. Cypress may very well be you only option, but like I stated you can certainly do very well there. Don't even let yourself be swayed by all this bunk on the internet indicating how one company is good and another is almost evil. Those wild inaccuracies seem to have a life of their own that is simply not based in reality. I have proven the fallacy of them over and over by thriving in this industry at a company that is so maligned on the internet that it is impossible to ignore all the negative claims against them, and yet they have always treated me like royalty and given me more work than I can do at times. You will create your own destiny in this industry with your attitude and work ethic.
Thank you very much old school for your help, yes down here is very tough for flat bedding,I`ve been doing research and my homework for almost a year now, like to know what I`m getting into.I don`t pay attention to any of the negative at,it`s what you make of it and hard work,I have to find a carrier that is right for me..the company that I`m going to shoot after i get at least 2 years experence with cypress is D.mosley in Jacksonville..and again thank you..
