I just got off of the phone with a Covenant recruiter. I discussed the fact that Covenant will pair you up for team driving. Gotta be able to pull doubles for some account and have HAZMAT. I asked about solo positions, and they just don't have many of those positions. Most is team driving. You go onto the website and fill out a survey to pair you up with someone similar. What I have an issue with is regardless of the other driver's music tastes and such, are really the things that matter like professionalism, safety, pulling their own weight, hygeine, etc. Those things matter far more than smoking and music. I'm feeling skeptical at the moment.

HAZMAT:

Hazardous Materials

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

The website tells you about the person's personal hygene habits as well. Someone at Covenant should have told you about that as part of the information you would receive. The biggest problem with Covenant Transport is they have very few people who can actually drive as team drivers. Too many drivers have gone out and come back being dissatisfied with their team drivers. I have found Covenant drivers are too selfish and think only of themselves and not how to operate as a team. After trying this 6 times I gave up and requested to drive Solo so I don't loes my sanity from everyone telling me I can't drive. I have 2 months experience/39,000 miles with C. R. England and nobody at Covenant wants to take me seriously. I now have over 11,000 miles as a Solo driver and give anyone who thinks I should go back to driving school the finger. Im really confused as to what abortion and driving for covenant have to do with one another? Isnt this truck driving? We are all entitled to our own opinions in any given topic but that really has no place on this board. Being as though your a man Im sure that abortion wouldnt apply to you so no worries. Now I have know a guy who worked for covenant. Matter of fact 2 and they both seemed to like it.

Had I been referring to you I would have just quoted your post. I was catching up on the boards and happened to reply to this one. No one has the final say on any thread on this board so I wasnt aware that Guy "closed" the issue. I gave an opinion. Sorry to whomever takes offense or doesnt like it . But next time feel free to pm with any concerns you have..

No need to get defensive. I assusmed you were talking to me since you said, "Being as though your a man Im sure that abortion wouldn't apply to you so no worries." And I do believe Guy can ,since he is a moderator, close a thread. And PM's don't seem to work on here, at least I have never had any luck with them. Perhaps you could have PM'd who you werer referrring to.

Catholic trucker I was not being defensive however I find it a tad hilarious when folks take things personally that dont apply to them so hey I say if the shoe fits........I was actually referring to the him who started this post and that was Charles and it was only to say he shouldnt have to worry about being prolife/prochoice as he is a man. Clearly I stated no personal opinion one way or the other as to which I believe because again THIS IS TRUCKING! And although most truckers fancy themselves knowledgeable on most topics religion and politics have no place here because as you can see EVERYONE has a personal opinion and most people cant take another opinion that is not there own. So shall we continue with trucking and get off of this pointless arguement?
