Well folks, it looks like Robert has done all the hard work for you. He posted all the important stuff you would need to research. So what do you think? Tell me in the comments below.

If you are wondering, I have no affiliation or obligation with this charity. I first stumbled upon it over on the CDL Life website. After reading the story and doing my own research, I felt moved to share the info with my fellow TT members. I also made a personal donation to try and get the ball rolling. I have no other connections with the Trucker's Final Mile organization.

As Robert stated, they have had to turn away four different cases due to lack of funding. Just the thought of that kills me. What if that had of been one of us? I could only imagine what it would be like trying to get home from all the way across the country to see a loved one in an emergency. Or vice versa, a loved one trying to get across the country to see you in an emergency. What is your personal plan for this type of scenario? Has it even crossed your mind? Do you expect your company to pay your way?

These are the questions and answers I want to hear from you. So let's talk about it. Leave your response in the comments below. Drive save and be careful out there!

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Anchorman, I edited the link you put so that it now takes people straight to the article. Took me about 20 minutes to find it because I had to "thumb through" that awful online flash version of their magazine.
