Hi everybody,

I wanted to know what is all tested on the Texas CDL Road test. Info from people who have actually taken the Texas test would be greatly appreciated!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Welcome, you have joined a great site with many people and tons of info to help you. If you jump over to the general catagory and ask this you might get a faster answer. Driving, straight line backing, parallel backing, air brake test. You won't do a walk around inspection, but the examiner might ask some questions about brakes, tires, emergency equipment etc. You might be asked about gauges on your dashboard.

This depends on the individual examiner.
