I am getting ready to start my training with the Georgia Driving Academy located in Conyers, GA. I was wondering if there is anyone on here who has had an experience with this place that could give me an idea of what it will be like once the class actually gets started. There is no much information about the school on the website so it is hard to get a feel for what is going to happen when we get started. I was also wondering how the driving course and the equpitment that they use is?

I noticed you posted this over a year ago. I am considering going to the Georgia Driving Academy in Columbus Ga. Could you tell me about your experience there?

Daniel:

I will. I am going to try to a trucking school diary if I have time. School is 60 hours a week, so that's ify at this point.

I went to the location in Conyers last year.

It is an accelerated program. One week study to obtain your permit and next week is practicing driving, backing, pre trip to obtain your CDL. 2 weeks basically.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
