1. I was at hartsfield jackson airport in Atlanta GA picking up a kid i mentored. When he got off the plane he said that a whole bunch of soldiers were on the flight with them. A few moments later the lady at the desk informed the crowd that this platoon had just gotten back from a tour in Iraq. When they came out everyone in that section stood up and clapped for them. Me and abe followed them down to baggage claim. Every terminal they walked by people stood and cheered for them.

2. At my job (papa johns ) all the McDonald's had been ordering pizzas for there employees. The day driver delivered all of thd day orders snd didnt get tipped. Obviously he was mad. Later that night my boss told me that i had one dilivery to the closest McDonald's and that the tip was 10 dollars well the morning driver heard ot and it just crushed him. The ten dollars was cash and so when i got back to the store i gave the ten to the morning driver. At first he refused and everyone said i was crazy. I told its only one tip i have plenty more to go. He deserves ot more than i do. So he gladly took it.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Walking into CDL orientation and finding that a former customer was the teacher was pretty cool.

Funny how that works! I am betting you had a good relationship with that prior customer! How's your quest coming along, anyway? Still in school?

My quest for CDL training is coming to an end, thanks for asking. I start class at the end of Oct. And yes I did have a good relationship with him and his dog. He often come in with his kids to wash their mutt.

Lol, the best!

Thanks everyone for your stories! It's nice to hear about things that make us feel good out on the road, and to be able to laugh at the things that don't.

I've been sitting at a receiver for four and a half hours... Not a cool feeling. But, knowing you all are out there putting in the effort is rewarding, and reminds me that there's more days ahead of cool and embarrassing moments. All worth it.

Be safe! Look out for "the other guy," check your mirrors, and don't forget to open the doors before you bump the dock. And, if you do, don't sweat it! That's one story we can all share. And having it in common is a cool feeling!
