..... Very interesting to see how company schools really work. After everyone's input now I'm thinking again about going to a company sponsored school (I guess this is what my wife means when she says I'm indecisive)

-Gunner

Gunner, all you gotta' do is decide that you're going to succeed, no matter what. Also, most of us aren't getting in to this profession with a ton of money on hand, so maybe a company-sponsored program is the way ta' go for many ...

Leap! ...and the net will appear.

I'm thinking that being on this site and using its training will give all of us students a leg up on the competition.

-Matt

You will be amazed, once you get to school, what an advantage you have.

Hey, where in Philly are you from? I grew up there.

The PGA they tested me in had no clutch.... 8 inches of free play and the turbo damn near exploded getting on the interstate.... it started billowing blue smoke. That was the better truck.

The first one the shifter broke and the top of it was the splitter... they need new Freightliner but they will not die.

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

OWI:

Staying here until I get my DMV test passed. Then I will stay with Swift until the loan for the school is payed off, about a year.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

OK, don't take me serious, but have you ever just thought, "If I screw up some, I could get more attention and driving time."?

Sorry, just the way my mind works. If you are talking behind someone's back, where are you really at?

Good deal Eckoh. I guess I missed it that you were at Swift, sorry about that. You've found a good place to get your start.
