I just received a message on my Qualcomm from Mr. Gordon.

GTI Qualcomm pay raise announcementGTI Qualcomm pay raise announcementGTI Qualcomm pay raise announcement

Super stoked about this. Particularly the 1 hour detention and breakdown pay.

Thought I'd share. I'll tell more as soon as I get the info from my DM.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Sound Awesome for all you GTI Drivers, now they need to get rid of that Sky Blue on all their trucks and mix it up a bit. So Ugly!

Congrats on the raise though! That's awesome news. You could ask the owner, "Does the largest pay raise in company history mean we have been the most underpaid drivers in company history to this point or were we just lagging behind the rest of the industry by the widest margin ever?"

rofl-3.gif

Yeah, maybe you don't want to say that. But that's what I always think when stores put things on sale...."buy one get the second one half off" - oh, does that mean I'm way overpaying for the first one?

WNted to update this incase anyone else decides to roll for GTI.. this is an email that I received

GTI payscale screenshot

I ended up getting 3 cents up, they are considering my 1 yr Orr with swift as 6 months , so I'm at .35 it's not the greatest but an extra .3 makes a bit of difference. At 1 yr I'll jump to .39 so another few months and I'll be upped again.

Why do they pay more for the Midwest? I would have thought west with the mountainous terrain would pay more.

I actually don't know, It may be because GTI is a western fleet to start, so that could be it. Since the merger with Hearland, new terminals have been put up in the east.

But i really don't no.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Out of curiosity, even though you started with Gordon after the merger, have you noticed any residual chaos or upheaval from the merger? Gordon and Interstate were pretty much neck and neck when I finally had enough of Jerry Moyes, but I didn't want to jump from one merger mess straight into another.

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
