Any Schneider National drivers on here who run a amazon dedicated account. Looking for your input. Was given a offer but dont want to think too much into what the recruiting department says. I want to here someone who actually runs it.

There's no one here that runs that dedicated.

However, I know two friends who used to primarily so Amazon loads and they loved it. The loads were always light (which isn't always a good thing) and it was always a drop and hook.

I recommend you talk to a driver in person about how he/she likes it. Perhaps go to the actual Amazon facility and see if you can catch one of them, might be tough. Otherwise go to the nearest truck stop. A lot of times they'll go to the nearest truck stop to scale their load and that's where you can approach them for a quick conversation.

Drop And Hook:

Drop and hook means the driver will drop one trailer and hook to another one.

In order to speed up the pickup and delivery process a driver may be instructed to drop their empty trailer and hook to one that is already loaded, or drop their loaded trailer and hook to one that is already empty. That way the driver will not have to wait for a trailer to be loaded or unloaded.

Yup tried all of that. Its a new facility and from what I gathered from the recruiting staff its a new contract for them but they said it is mostly light with 98% drop and hook with the rest being live unloads and reloads.

Sounds about right. Those loads are featherweight, but that's not always a good thing especially in the winter!

The trailers are loaded like a puzzle. Boxes on top of boxes with no pallets. So they're mostly drop and hook simply because it's tough to unload one of those trailers in less than 2 hours.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
