Hey Folks, I've been reading about truck stop showers and how they work. I'm seeing an average of $9-$12 for a shower! That's insane. However, it seems if you purchase 50 gallons or more of diesel, you get to shower free, or you get a credit that is good for 5 days. This leaves me with a few questions, as I'm trying to create software or an excel sheet that will help truckers keep track of shower credits and how to take most advantage of this system.

1) Do you have to take 50 gallons at once, or just a free shower every 50 gallons? 2) Do they expire? a. If yes, how long? 3) Do they have to be used at the location where it was earned? 4) Do companies tell you when/where to stop for fuel, or can you get fuel whenever? a. My thinking is: You might as well buy 50 gallons every time you want to fuel/shower. You're going to need/burn that fuel at some point in the future anyways, so you might as well get it now and get the free shower!

Thanks ya'll! Jason E.

50 gal at once. Do not expire as far as I know. Any location within the same chain. Most companies tell you where to fuel but some are more strict than others.

Most truckers never have to pay for a shower. 50 gallons is nothing for a rig and they refuel much more often than they shower rofl-3.gif

Pilot and Flying J have this promotion called shower power. Buy 500 gallons in a month and get a free shower every day. I had my 500 gallons by the second week so I'm good. Prime tells us where and how much fuel to get but I've never had to get less than 50 gallons so far.

Even before the shower power thing I always have shower credits somewhere.

You'll get at least 50 gallons each time you fuel. It doesn't make much sense to fuel if you're above 3/4 of a tank of fuel.

It is 1 shower credit for each purchase of 50 gallons or greater. It is not 1 shower per every 50 gallons.

They do expire, but depending on the chain there are different lengths of time before expiration.

You can redeem the shower at any location of the chain that you earned it at.

The big trucking companies tell you where to fuel and pay for the fuel if you're a company driver so yes you're basically getting a company paid shower.

Not sure how your software will work but each truck stop chain already have apps connected to their stores and allows us to see the info on the card in real time. All someone has to do is log in and look. No extra software is needed.
