Qualcomm / DriverTech / CoPilot / TND 720

I'm looking over the CoPilot Navigation system that is integrated into the Qualcomm and DriverTech systems. CoPilot appears to be a pretty good Nav system.

When drivers say they are using other Nav systems like the Rand-McNally TND 720, etc, are they using it in conjunction WITH the CoPilot system? Perhaps the 720 has more or different functionality than the CoPilot....

Danke

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

AJ,

You are correct when you say that most use whatever GPS system they favor in conjunction with the Qualcomm system. The biggest advantage to the Rand McNally for me is that while both most times come up with pretty much the same route, the Rand also gives me the option to find rest areas/truckstops along my route as well as the route itself.

So it really boils down to what you as the driver holds to be most important to you.

I used the Qualcomm navi for the address I'm loading or unloading and the other GPS is set for my fuel stop or if I have another stop to make before the final stop

We have the CoPilot Navigation in our Qualcomms as well but I don't use it. I've got CoPilot on my Tablet that I purchased separately and I use that. Qualcomm graphics are too crappy for me and ours is very slow.
