Forget everything you know and start out fresh!! It is one thing to back up a 16' trailer, it's another to try and back up a 53' trailer with a vehicle that has a larger wheel base, is longer, higher and definitely more powered than what your use to! Seriously, yes, the trailer moves one way when you steer the other, after that plan on learning the turning radius, reaction and stopping time all over again. Best of luck!!! Relax and enjoy the ride!

Good Afternoon,
I'm a small town country guy who grew up on a farm pulling boats, stock trailers, flat bed hay trailers etc. I've driven a couple box vans at 16 and 24 ft, but personally I'm a bit nervous about the transition from gooseneck trailers and bumper pulls into the full on rig. Is there any advice that anyone on here can give to me? Over the course of the last 9 months I've been restricted mostly to boats and the two box vans.
