Sorry for the delay in updates, laptop is giving me issues and I'm not to partial to typing long messages on my phone. I think I got my laptop working again, my antana cable that plugs into the WiFi network card came undone. Not sure how that happened but it did. I'll get an update here shortly I hope. Probably in the am .

Was a pretty good day, got up at 0430 check my hours (had 7:55 now running on recap or hours I pick up at mid night) Was a little hesitant to roll during dark hours, but roads where reported clear,so I took the chance, rolled slow and made my delivery. During my trip, I was pre planned again for my next load

Load @ Proctor and Gamble in Bear River City, UT. Pick up 01/4 @ 0700-0700 Deliver @ Walmart DC in Cheyenne, Wy Deliver 1/5 @ 00:01 - 23:59

Sweet a load back towards east so I get get home. And it picks up at my drop off, even better.

Bout 8:00 I got up to the guard, checked in, dropped loaded and picked up loaded and was ready to roll at 9. Prior to leaving I checked my papers for weight, 15500 lbs. Another light load. They only bad thing on the load was heading back they way I just came, but that's tucking.

I started out again, and headed to the next truck stop for my 30 min break. At the end of my break I have 4hr left. I start out again, and head for my fuel stop which is the same location I slept the last night , got up there fueled, and was called out on the cb by another Gordon driver. He asked if I came from the east, I told him no, just left UT heading to Cheyenne. He came back roads are bad past Rawlins due to high winds and black ice.. I stopped for an sec thinking shoot, this could be bad. I knew Rawlins had a TA with a nice restraunt, and had just enough time to roll there. I came back over asking how then roads to Rawlins was, clear was what I got. I went for it.

I made it to the exit and just as I was slowingn down, I got hit by a mast on gust of wind, felt my trailer slide a little. Wow that's bad. I managed to find a spot and shut down with 55 minnit was 1800 when I went off duty. 7hrs of driving in 11 hrs, good day I think.

Nothing major happened and was pretty easy. I like easy. After parking, I went in to the TA and took a seat at the restraunt counter. Nothing but drivers going east talking about the roads..

This doesn't look good....

Woke up this morning at 0700, sun was just peaking out. I turned on my CB and heard drivers still complaining about east bond weather. I got up, dressed and went back inside. Everyone from the night before is there. Well this doesn't look good .

I took a seat, got on the Wyoming dot site and started looking at the weather... Everything from Rawlins to Cheyenne was closed to all traffic. I called up my DM explained my situation and let him know its unsafe to drive and ill keep him updated.

I'm going to make a long story short here as all I did was sit the entire day. Talked with other drivers, took a walk which was hard to do with the wind blowing me every which way.

By 1500 they opened the road to all traffic except light, high profile vehicles..

Now I want to explain what this means.. The state of Wyoming does not classify what a light vehicle is. They can't, as if you are one pound over and still blow over, it could be bad for the state. Instead its based on the driver. Personally I won't move under 30k in my trailer, this current load is 15k and can be easily blown over. I had a trainer tell me, "every load is hot, and a hotmload cools off quicker Inna ditch" that is true. An empty trailer can be turned over at 30-35mph winds, a fully loaded trailer can be rolled at 60-70mph winds. Its not worth the risk being so light.

At 1500 I called my DM explained that roads opened but weather still wasntn safe for my lite load and this load will be late as Wyoming dot didnt expect the wind to calm down until early Tuesday morning.

Some good news on this, I get layover pay and a 34hr reset. I just hate sitting...

Well after hours of waiting, I'm still waiting. I pretty much sat around all day waiting for the change in the weather and of course after waiting, my company removes the shutdown and I still can't leave add is now night and I really don't wanna navigate through wind and blowing slow during night hours. So I'm gonna sit tonight and hope it's good tomorrow to get out .

I have met some interesting folks here. Including meeting a fellow TTer, Truckographer. It was pleasure sir. ..

To those of you who are new and just starting out, this is what could and will happen to you sometime in your driving career . Never trust the weather as it'll change on ya in a moments notice.
