I got a shot at a local job and it was pretty rough, I faced up and told the owner I need to learn more before I break his equipment or hurt someone. Now I may have a shot at another local company in the feed and grain business who stated they would giv eme some more additional training. Any advise on shifting made easy and less frustrating, to this old man.
practice and do not rush it.
Yea have to agree..its something you cant really read about..its more of a doing....just keep going and take it slow...and soon you be pushing them smooth.
Remember the biggest key or keys to shifting is rpm and road speed. Generally the sweet spot is around 1400 rpm. That may vary 100 rpm plus or minus. So when up shifting get to your ideal range then clutch neutral, clutch shift. You should be able to complete the shift in the same time it takes you to say it out loud. Down shifting is virtually the same except it's clutch neutral, burp throttle, clutch shift.
Just keep at it and you'll be just fine. Good luck
