I just got the call today to head back to Memphis this coming Sunday (the 11th) to finish up. I was wondering what the hold up was but they had lost all the road instructors.

As far as your situation goes it honestly depends on what training site your going to with swift. Some of them have a 2 week and some have a 3 week. Best to double check with your recruiter on the specifics.

I will keep you updated once I get back to the grind. I just hope things come back real quick since i have not been behind the wheel in a week and a half.

I did road training there in January. No waiting for an instructor. At least you didn't have to go to the Millington site. (or did you?) It was pretty desolate.

I'm going to Memphis. I was told it was 17 days, but who knows..lol. I'm assuming I'll be doing my state testing there since my home state is TN. I wonder if it had anything to do with the cameras that were supposed to be installed in Company trucks. Hope you get to finish up soon😀

I never stepped foot on the Millington site. might go there for some road training or something. Not sure. Everything is done at the main terminal now.

I dont think any of the training has to do with the cameras. I had just talked with the person who sets up the training in Memphis and they have had instructors quit (either go back to solo or left the company) so I am not sure. I could probably find out more once I get down there.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

You pay for your own food. That's most of your out-of-pocket. I don't know the particulars about your stay in Memphis. (I went to the Millington location now closed.) But I do know it's a few miles to the closest grocery. Someone should speak up with the instructors to get at least a weekly Walmart van trip or something.

I'm at the terminal nearly every day including weekends, around noon. I could make a Wallmart run if you are available. Send me a PM if yo are interested.
