Btw; an OSR taught me 1200 & 1500 & it works, but if I'm loaded I'll shift @ 1300 & 1550. Also he taught me to think of the Adams Family theme & shift on the click click that quick. Again it works for me 'cause I was taking the whole everything slow thing too seriously.

... and this does WHAT for anyone under 60 who is way too young to remember a TV show from the 60's??? Nothing like saying, "Hey, I'm an old fart!" - which I have done many times ... cuz I is ...

Thanks Jeff, yeah its more so gears 3-5 on an in/de cline with me weighing 78k. You have to be quick. Its all about speed and rpms but the weight seems to through a cure into things. I haven't yet mastered my lower gears. I mean I can double clutch , float, through all my gears. But sometimes if I lose a lower gear, I'll check my speed, put my rps where they need to be and... Nothing but good ol' grindage lol

Grr, those lower gears...I still grind them from time to time and I've been driving 7 months (not a pro, of course). So don't be too hard on yourself... but, you know when I grind them the most??? When I'm thinking about it...usually if I just use my instincts I'll float it into the right gear with no trouble...weird how it works. Good luck to you Driver!

Double Clutch:

To engage and then disengage the clutch twice for every gear change.

When double clutching you will push in the clutch, take the gearshift out of gear, release the clutch, press the clutch in again, shift the gearshift into the next gear, then release the clutch.

This is done on standard transmissions which do not have synchronizers in them, like those found in almost all Class A trucks.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
