This was a very hard backing situation. The video below shows me leaving the place. Had to back through 2 gates. The inner gate of the prison I had about an inch on either side of my mirrors. Not a fun place to back into. Normally reserved for 30 foot pup trailers and days cabs.

This was the first stop of two. Turns out I was supposed to go around to the back of the building that was made for 53 foot trailers and delivery both stops there. Lol

YouTube video of me at this place. Copy and paste it into your browser cause I don't not know how to embed it into a post on TT.

That's insane! Did anyone give you lip about having to move their car?

Nope argument at all. The cops finally showed up and called and had a tow truck move the cars.

For me Norfolk, Va and Anaheim, Ca have been the 2 hardest places I've taken the show I'm on into. In Norfolk the arena that we played in had pillars and columns every 30 feet where we took the trailers. We had to nose the trailers in then back out. At some points we were backing blind and using only radios because we would have to fold in mirrors. Majority of blindside backing too.

Anaheim wasn't as bad it was a serpentine back into a blindside around a blind corner into the dock area and you either keep holding the blindside and just roll right into 3 docks along the wall or you straightened our and went straight back to two docks. I love my job and seeing a new city and arena every week and see what challenges they are going to bring because every arena will be a challenge wether it's parkint a 32 trailer show in their parking lot or having docks that a conventional tractor and a 53 foot box aren't supposed to fit in and making it work and getting in there without damage to truck/trailer or building.

Can't figure out how to attach pictures because they aren't on a website they are just saved to my photo album on phone but I got some pictures of Norfolk, Va if anyone wants to see.

To attach pictures you'll need to upload to an outside source like photobucket. I use the photobucket app and just upload directly from my phone. Then when you want to share you just click share and copy the direct link and paste in the address bar provided on this site. Easy as that. Photobucket is free and there's a ton of others out there.

The ugliest, so far, was at a Trans-shipper in Laredo. Narrow Lane between the docks and empties and trucks staged, too. We have a KW T680 and 53' vans. Sean was spotting and then two local drivers stepped up to help...one in the slot and the other at my window. No paint was swapped but don't let anyone tell you 1 or 2 foot pull-ups are useless. It's often a game of inches. Two poultry plants in CA were challenging, too, due to narrow serpentine drives and fork lifts!! We have had some really tight u-turn situations when sent down the wrong drive or find a one way gate...

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
