So I was on the phone with CRST last night and it turns out Mass is one of only two states which require you to obtain your license in-state. This pushes my plans out at least a few months. I have to purchase a vehicle, save up 6+ weeks of living expenses, and quit my job to attend. But believe it or not there are benefits; it prevents me from making an impulsive decision, the freedom of choice (company), and the more comprehensive, slower paced environment I originally wanted (Private School) I contacted NETTTs this morning, they're sending a rep right out to my house to talk things over. (New England Tractor Trailer) I set it up for Saturday at 1, hoping they'll be able to answer all of my questions.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

You mean Taxachusetts right? I'm from the Northampton area, currently live in MO. I was planning on relocating back to western MA this month, long story short, my plans have changed, family issues. I contacted Roehl about schooling with them and was denied and told to call them after I get my CDL in MA. Think you need two years experiance to easily transfer your CDL to MA. Otherwise you need to get tested all over again. By the way I'm staying in MO. At least for a year or two. Lower cost of living and will get my two years behind me and take things from there. Good luck, I miss the trees and damn good apples!

How did you make out? I'm in MA also. Testing has proved to be a lot more difficult than I initially anticipated. Thought I'd be a lot further than I am at this point.

Please read the online reviews before you go with NETTTS. I elected not to go with them after reading ALL the reviews. It's bad. I went to sit in the office of United in Chicopee, and this is a no frill, no fuss kinda school, and I like the owner's speech.
