Wondering what a new truck driver would Need when starting with a company and riding with a trainer for a few weeks

I think of it like a camping but here is my short list: Gloves (at least 2 pairs and one heavy duty for fueling) Boots Cloths appropriate for the season Personal hygiene things Wet wipes Pens (black and blue and more than two) Phone charger Any prescribed meds you maybe on Over the counter meds as needed (pain relievers, allergy pills, cough syrup, and/or supplements) Poncho Laundry soap Laundry bag of some sort Bedding (Pillow, sheets, and blanket) Shoes Shower shoes Sun glasses Flashlight Appropriate personal entertainment (books, laptop, or something)

Greenhorn made a quick list - I accumulated most of these.

You'll probably need to provide your own food. My mentor made a point to stop at Walmarts. So make a food prep kit with a spreading knife, can opener, fork, spoon, etc. If you can touch base with your mentor ahead of time, that will answer many questions. If not (I didn't see the guy till I was done with the orientation. Refrigerator/cooler space will certainly be very tiny.

Bring a notebook/spiral notes and learn from your mentor what notes to make for each dispatch.
