Driving History

Howdy again!

I've started to look over job applications, and they all ask to provide a three to five year driver history. It doesn't actually have to be that long though does it? I didn't start driving until eighteen and I got my license a year ago. Is that going to be a problem?

Thanks, James

James, if I understand your comments right then you are only nineteen years old - is that right? That is going to make it very difficult to get a professional driving job. Let us know if that is what you are saying.

On the driving record going back for three to five years, don't worry about it. If you don't have anything showing up that far back then that is a good thing. You're fine if you've had that license for one year, but I am concerned about your age being a limiting factor for you.

James, so you were driving before you got your license? If so, do you have any tickets for driving without a license during that time, or any other type of traffic violations?

I had a permit, but not a license

O.K. Now it's making sense to me. Any violations?

Also, I'm curious - did you go to public school or were you home schooled? The reason I ask is that I've seen a lot of home schooled people do just like you did with a lengthy driver training, and then waiting to get licensed when they turn eighteen.

Completely clean record, and yes I was home schooled.

You've got nothing to worry about on that driving history, don't even give it a second thought.

And by the way, my wife and I home schooled our three daughters, it put them way ahead in both life and character. I'm from Texas also, so if you come up with any questions about the Texas testing I'll do my best to help you. Sometimes it may take me a day or two to get back to you though if I'm really busy on the road.

Thanks for helping me out, even though I obviously didn't word my question very well. :)

I'll definitely contact you if I have any questions about Texas testing.

Go homeschooling!

If I had it to do over again, I would have done the home school thing...other than learning the social skills kids need, Home Schooling is clearly the best education. I think every year at the big spelling competition, its a home schooled kid that wins it. I went to parochial schools...nothin' like those penguins to make sure you learn what they are teaching..one way or another....but I got a great education, and my start in music, which has served me well, also.
