Hi Kevin,
Welcome and good luck. Admittedly, I don't know much about Schneider's dry van division, but I am one of their bulk drivers. The training will be excellent, and you will be well taken care of. The facilities are all top-notch. Everyone in the company is friendly and helpful, and will treat you with the utmost respect. You will be given nearly everything you need to be a successful driver, and the rest you will pick up or acquire while on the road, figuring it out as you go along. If and when you do find yourself needing information or documents or anything necessary to complete a job, don't get frustrated, just ask lots of questions, and rest assured, you will get what you need, and it'll come with a smile. Good luck and see you on the road soon.
I started with SNI in dry van and did two years before moving on. Schneider is a great company and everything they promised was true.
If I had to do it again, I'd start with Schneider again. I only left because (in my area) I found a position that gets me home weekly, same miles, same $. Southeast.
I think SNI's orientation for new drivers is top-notch. Good luck!

I'm starting orientation on Tuesday 8/8/ 2017. Any body been through there? I am going dry van OTR. I'm going to stay doing that at least a year cuz I know I don't know #$%^. After that I guess I'll know more about what I want to drive and where. They are giving me .38 a mile which was more than others in my area. I live in Wi. I guess i just want a little more info on what to expect. Forewarned is forearmed. Good numbers to all.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Dry Van:
A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.
