Seriously am i wrong for shutting down

I had to shut it down in Minnesota on Wednesday during the blizzard. White out conditions and very high winds. Dispatcher didn't have a problem with it, And just told me to let him know when I felt it was safe to drive again. The only problem receiver was closed Christmas Eve christmas and the weekend so I have to wait till Sunday night to deliver. Brutal...

I 40 NM & TX still a mess!

Haven't been on here in a while. But that storm was a hot mess. From Oklahoma City to Amarillo. No power. Thank God I fueled before I got to OKC. Stopped 4 times just to get something to drink. Power was out everywhere. So it was water I had in the truck. Always have food and drink with you. Seriously, I was headed West, 20 miles West of Amarillo I saw a backup of thousands of trucks...NEVER have I seen a sight like that. And I drive I-80 in Wyoming a lot.

You know you are in the sticks when...

You know you're in the sticks when your phone and PeopleNet lose all signal.

I was at a chicken processing plant in lumber bridge North Carolina. By the time I got loaded I asked the security guard as a left, I'm out of time is there anywhere I can go? And he told me about a place a 1/2 mile down the road. He said lock your doors and don't go into the convenience store... I asked him why? He said nothing but meth heads and hookers... I hadn't even parked yet and 2 girls were coming up to my truck they were probly in their twenties but they look like they were 50 years old. On top of that no phone or Internet service. I started thinking about personal protection after that trip

Truckers report in on their treatment during these COVID-19 times

Fill out a questionnaire in every place I go, Temperature scanned, And most places I don't need sign the paperwork... They do it for me or leave a paperwork in the back of the trailer with the seal. Biggest thing I worry about is taking a shower. Fans are blowing its Humid in there... So I take them When I can do it very early in the morning... I'm usually customer number 1 or 2. I want to pick up a can of lysol spray so I can spray the shower air when I walk in just haven't been able to find it the places I go.

Not sure what the next step is

Things are just nuts right now. My dispatchers are going nuts with load planning right now. Loads are booking, then cancelling or pushing out daily from what they are telling me. She asked me to please be patient for the time being.

Same thing's happening to me. In the last 3 weeks I've had 3 loads canceled 2 of which I was on my way. Still getting miles until this week. Had a good run to start the week but now I have a 300 mile run not due to deliver for 2 days. That's the ones that drive you crazy. Called about getting in early and my dispatcher apologized saying you have to deliver at the time stated. So gonna take a 34 that I didn't have to.
