A trainee stabbed his trainer to death last night in Texas. Anyone hear what company? I'm not ready for murder but I see how it could happen.

Posted: Aug 28, 2015 1:12 AM CDT Updated: Aug 28, 2015 2:55 PM CDT BELL COUNTY - New details are emerging after a man was stabbed to death at a rest stop in south Bell County Thursday.

Authorities say truck driver Roland Ruiz, 62, was working as an instructor alongside fellow driver Stanley Polk, 46, when the stabbing happened.

During a press conference Friday officials say the two got in an argument which then escalated into a physical altercation at a Salado rest stop.

At 7 p.m. the Bell County Sheriff's Department, were then called to the rest stop on Northbound IH-35, just south of Salado in response to a stabbing.

When they arrived, they found Ruiz suffering multiple stab wounds. He was airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple in serious condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

Polk initially got away on foot and was seen heading south of the highway.

The Bell County Sheriff's Office found Polk walking along the I-35 Access Road with a knife in possession.

A DPS helicopter was called in along with a Temple police K-9 units to help with the search.

Christ man, that's a terrible way to go. I've pulled knives on people before, but I live in a really bad city and it was purely out of self defense. I'd say if that trainee didn't kill him then and there, he woulda wound up killing someone on the road.

Don't let this kind of stuff scare you. This was one incident within the truck driver community with millions of drivers out there. You probably have a better chance of being mugged near your home than something like this happening to you.

Agreed. I'll take those odds.

Sad world when grown men need weapons to fight one on one. What ever happened to taking an ass whipping and get him next time?

Mike C. Can you paste the link or article that states the company? Actually that company is close to me- I live in Missouri and I believe their home office is in Nebraska. I've thought about working for them.
