Yes, you can get your CDL on your own, but you need practice, cuz your only allowed 12 points on he skills and if you mess up bad in the beginning, like I did, there will be little room for error the rest of the test

More importantly, you wanna be careful about getting your CDL A on your own, because most major truckload companies won't hire you without having gone to a CDL school and obtaining a certificate - even with your shiny new CDL in hand. And every school isn't equal either. You'll need a school / certificate that shows at least 160+ credit hours.
Simply put, you can't really cut corners and expect to be hire-able by most companies. It'll work for a mom & pop operation, but you'll be severely limited with your employment opportunities. Just the way the game is played - you gotta jump through the hoops. It's private CDL school ( with at least 160+ credit hours ), or company-sponsored school.

I've learned alot on my own ...turning and backing you swing to the other lane and back the opposite way...is there anything else with the driving portion you guys can teach me
