I recently contacted SWIFT about going to their school, They had me fill out an application, On the app it asked if I had EVER had any DUI's or DRUG offences, Note the key word "EVER" So I gave the information. Swift then wanted me to fill out what's called a conviction form, Well I contacted the courts where I had gotten in trouble They said they don't keep records over 10 years old that I would have to contact the Virginia State Police to get the info, Sent in the required form to the VSP got it back and it says I have no conviction record, I know I got in trouble, DUI 1998, and a misdemeanor marijuana possession 1996 but I don't remember the exact dates of the convictions, and well I cant seem to find the information. I don't know who else to contact on this matter and was just hoping that someone on here could give some advise on how to continue on I don't want Swift to think I am trying to hide anything after all the app did say EVER now I feel like I should have just said No clean record but I know their investigation team would have found it and then it would look as if I were lying . Sorry for rambling Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Tough call since you admitted to the issues. The thing that goes in your favor is that there's nothing on record which leads me to believe that the state expunged your record based on time. Since you've already admitted to the infractions, I'd also let them know that your record has been expunged and you now have no record. Most companies only go back 10 years max anyway, in which case neither of your issues would have shown. You started out being honest, stick with it. I'm betting you'll be ok.

Thanks Ya'll I feel a little better about all this now. Just to put it out there I did offer to fax a copy of the form I got from The Virginia State police to my recruiter/Swift investigation team but have not received a response yet. THANKS AGAIN :)

I'd be proactive and send it to them anyway - don't wait for the call back. Show them you want to work for them and that you did your due diligence to prove that to them. If I was the employer I'd be happy that a potential employee was that persistent to do what I asked and was taking the initiative to show me that they were so serious. Also, by sending the info, it puts your name/file back on top of the pile for now.

Did not think of it that way thank you for the advise and I will send it to them.

If the question says "ever" then they will go as far back as they can... Now they will have a max on certain stuff like DUI and charges but they throw that ever in there to see if people will lie... Just tell them the dates and your charge and they will check out the rest... DONT EVER LIE AND DONT GIVE TO MUCH INFO.... Read everything and make sure you understand the question before you answer it..
