Safety is always priority #1. Tankers drive differently because of the surge of moving liquids. Once you get some experience and get used to what's going to happen, you'll be able to better anticipate it. As far as a company choice, Schneider is a good company with plenty of opportunities and different options as far as what you can haul. Every type of freight has its quirks, you just have to figure out what they are so you can keep the shiny side up and get on down the road.
Keep a positive attitude and don't get too frustrated if you don't turn the miles you want right away.
I don't know how Schneider has the formula set up, but they'll increase your hauls as you gain experience. By six months in you should be getting good miles.

Alright so I am going to be getting my CDL this week. I have a contract with Schneider to become a OTR tanker. I just wanted to know whats to expect. The cons and pros and just some advice to a new driver.
