Where does one find that DVD set?

The site is You Are Your Own Gym

If you have an iPhone, iPad, Android Phone, or Android Tablet he has an app that's only like $3. That's what I use - the iPad app. He also has a version specifically for women. Awesome programs.

Will not be hard to do. Just read all the labels. Seriously. If you cut out the soft drinks and read the labels of the stuff you eat then you will be fine.

I wish that were so, Guyjax, but I'm having a hard enough time with this list my doctor gave me here at home...I can only imagine what it will be like on the road. It's two full sheets of paper listing foods I should avoid; basically any single item exceeding 300g of sodium. That rules out lunch meat (even turkey breast), chips (of course), and virtually anything canned, unless you can eat tuna fish WITHOUT a dab of mayo (yuck).

I guess it will be celery, carrots, unsalted almonds and dried fruit 'til I get the squirts! (TMI) shocked.png

Congrats hammerhed! Way to go on the school! I weighed the other day in a truckstop, and since I took my physical at the beginning of school, I have lost 20 lbs. I did that by eating turkey sandwiches instead of fast food. Fruit for breakfast instead of fried eggs and bacon. Even though it was cold with snow and ice in Iowa, I continued my walking I had started a month before I came up here. There was a super Target a half mile away, and even though some of my classmates in school would take a cab, I always walked. It's paid off. When I took the physical, the doc told me, I had a year to lose 50 lb's or I would have to take a sleep test. I think that is a doable goal, if I stay serious about it. Even since I have been on the road this week, I went got my trainer to take me to a grocery and have avoded eating in the truck stops, with the exception, most have some kind of fresh fruit available, and I do buy coffee and bottled water, which has been all I have been drinking. I dont care much for soda anyway, so that is not a big deal for me. I like milk, but at home I drink 1% milk, and our cooler on the truck does not lend itself to keeping a gallon or half gallon in there. By the pint, it is expensive.I have also continued my walking when i can, just by walking around the truck stop parking area. I am going to continue, and I am going to look up that site about being ones own gym.

Hey hamrhed12 - I've eaten healthy for years and what you'll wind up doing is finding a list of food you can eat and then this will be much easier. And the more weight you lose the more health concerns will be solved and this list will grow nicely. But I buy the same 15 or 20 foods all the time - yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna fish, Fiber One granola bars, etc. I eat a lot of those frozen Weight Watchers Meals called "Smart Ones" - perfect size, tastes great, 4 minutes in the microwave.

I can tell you guys right now - the absolute most important and effective thing you can do to reduce your weight and get your health where you need it to be is to count calories. People think it's far more annoying and tedious than it is - and I was one of those people. I hated the thought of having to do that but it's highly effective and I realized looking back that I had wasted years of effort by not counting calories. I haven't been overweight in years but I still count calories as part of my routine. You'll feel better, you'll lose weight consistently, and you'll learn to find the healthiest foods. When you restrict your calories you have to really plan out your meals better. You want stuff that tastes good, is somewhat filling, has good nutrition, and keeps you under your calorie limit for the day. And those foods are out there - you just have to experiment and look around. There are a million dieting sites on the web that will give you fantastic ideas.

But I can tell you right now from experience - if you don't count calories you're never going to get the consistent results you're hoping for and you'll never wind up where you want to be. You'll be up and down like a yo-yo and become thoroughly frustrated because you can't understand why you lose weight sometimes and then gain it back other times.

Eating the proper number of calories each day is critical to your health. And if you're looking for the most effective and healthy weight loss program on the planet - that's easy - the tried and true Weight Watchers. They've been around forever because that's the proper way to eat healthy and lose weight. It's not a gimmick and it's not a fad. It's real, it's simple to follow, and it's highly effective. They even have an online version you can join if you like.
