Call Roehl.

I do not know if they are hiring out of Oklahoma but worth find out.

I chose them for the exact same reasons as you. I spent more than enough time away from home during deployments and field time.

Roehl has the best home time options I have found. 7 on 4 off, 7 on 3 off; 7 on 7 off; 14 on 7 off. I chose the 7/4 7/3 option. With your military service you "might" qualify for the apprenticeship program and get some tax free money each month for the first 2 years of employment. Not sure if since you already been driving you would still qualify.

Otherwise check with Schneider. I see they offer some flexible home time options as well.

With that home time option, do you get to keep the same truck? Or you have to take all your stuff out because you might end up with a different truck going back on the road?

In a reasonably good economy it's highly unlikely a road worthy truck will sit for 7 days. This is probably a slip-seating arrangement.

Well if you do the 7 days out, and 3-4 days home...the truck isn't sitting for 7 days....

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I found a conversation mentioning, that the 7/4 - 7/3 is slip seating. And a little more digging, and i found that it is 3 drivers rotating with 2 trucks. So while it is still slip seating, you would still be familiar with either truck that you are driving,

Ya....id think they don't clean the trucks inside cab in between each driver.....

....so if the other drivers are smokers, or don't keep the truck clean, you have to deal with that...ugh

I have a tanker endorsement(haven't driven tanker) and a twic card. Looked at ups fedex old d etc... But no openings in my area. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the suggestions

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

You may want to look at local distribution centers in your area. Companies big companies.

The reason I say that is because the old distribution company I use to work for UNFI has a 1 year experience requirement. It's been my goal this whole time. Go back to the company I use to work for but for much better money.

I can't vouch for other companies or accounts but we have "non-smoking" trucks. It is the drivers responsibility vacating the truck to clean up their trash before handing off to another driver.

I found a local route that gets me home every weekend and 2-3 days a week in addition. Don't want to reveal the name just yet until all the administration is complete but it's basically all set. Thanks for all the help. Be safe out there

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
