At least he waited until the unmarked police cruiser passed him. Seriously though, what an idiot.

I thought that was a cruiser too which made him doing that even more puzzling.

The company contacted me a few minutes ago and said they'll show him the proper way to handle that situation. They were very nice and seemed serious about addressing the issue. They also asked i take the video down to prevent any problems with their client. Since the only thing you can ask a company to do is educated drivers like this and they're doing exactly that i'll be removing the video. Hopefully he comes out a safer driver that makes better decisions.

Heck, I thought you would get a "canned" reply totally unrelated to safety, but to the effect..."Thank you for your interest in SAIA trucking. Your e-mail is important to us and a recruiter has been notified. A SAIA recruiter will contact you shortly. If you have any questions feel free to call ___ _____ at 1-800-***-****, ext. ****.

Just to clear it up it's a saia trailer being hauled by "Palletized Trucking" Hahah, yea i wasn't sure what to expect. There are companies i probably wouldn't have said anything to, just posted the video and moved on, but when i went to their website their entire safety staffs contact information is listed publicly. I took that to be a company that is pretty serious about doing things the right way. I was at least hoping they'd drop him a phone call to let him know he was busted driving like that because that alone would probably change his driving habits. They also asked for me to send them the file for use in training. That's about as responsible as a company can be if they follow through on everything.

Last year we had a video posted showing a semi nearly running oncoming cars off the road. After about a week, the president (I believe) of the company posted here that the driver was permanently relieved of his duties.
