The length of the permit depends on the state you are in. I live in NJ and think it was like 6 months.. but I went to prime and got a MO permit that was good for over a year I think. Legally u can test 14 days after you get your permit. It used to be 75 hours of drive time but that changed this summer.
As for the endorsements... I took the tanker test with the rest. Prime told us to get the Hazmat done after we transfer our licenses back home. I haven't had time to do it yet

when I go to the DMV to test for my permit on my own before leaving to go to Company Sponsored school, can you also test for Tanker & hazmat endorsements? Or do you have to actually have your CDL first before you can get those endorsements? I would prefer to take all the tests at one time if possible. & my next question is how long is the CDL Permit good for once you get it? Say you get it this month but you don't plan to go to school right away or say 2-3 months away. Is it like a 30 day thing or 90 day thing?
