That's not true. It's based on your BMI and die of your neck.
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
*size of your neck, sorry
Thank you for the reply
Honestly, you are better off to have one done. My Dr explained to me that people over 40 (especially males) are very likely to have some level of sleep apnea due to the neck muscles naturally getting weaker with age. I had a home study done. It was actually pretty easy... Just hooked up a few wires, turned it on, and then dropped it off at his office the next day. I feel much, much better since I got a CPAP.
A physical disorder in which you have pauses in your breathing, or take shallow breaths, during sleep. These pauses can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Normal breathing will usually resume, sometimes with a loud choking sound or snort.
In obstructive sleep apnea, your airways become blocked or collapse during sleep, causing the pauses and shallow breathing.
It is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management. It affects about 18 million people in the U.S.
CPAP is a breathing assist device which is worn over the mouth or nose. It provides nighttime relief for individuals who suffer from Sleep Apnea.
So while out on a road call today I spoke to a driver that told me every cdl driver is required to get a sleep study done regardless of health or weight Is that true? If so why?
P
Sleep is the new in thing. Companes are doing it because people with apnea are fatigued from nit getting enough oxygen while they sleep. The funny thing was the women giving the test told us it can be hereditary as well and half of her averaged size relatives had it. Made me feel like I was being singled out. At prime they have selected people the test and if we tested positive they had us buy a coap. The money for the test and machine is taking weekly from our cHeck. I tested negative so no machine for me
