Well I heard back and all I need now is my physical and permit! Will be heading to Phoenix hopefully on the 13th of March! I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am ready to get this new chapter of my life under way!

Devan, welcome to Swift! I did my Swift school a year ago in Memphis. My experience is posted in the training section here.

Just some advice/ encouragement: you will probably feel a lot of pressure, and even that the training is inadequate. It's planned that way. The goal of the school (almost any school) is to get you ready to take and pass the CDL skills test. That's it. You'll get more training with your mentor.

Backing just might drive you crazy in frustration. Try not to get flustered, just learn from one try to the next and focus to make your next shot better.

I suggest getting a toy truck and watch how the trailer moves as you back 90° between two table knives.

Good luck in your new career!

Thanks Errol, I actually have read your diary as well as a couple others. I am so glad for this site because it has made me accept many of the truths of driving before I start. I don't have many expectations with Swift, I just expect them to help me get my CDL and to get my year experience. Also I just ordered a toy truck and have been watching some videos on backing just so I can sort of get the concept down. I will keep you guys updated on everything!
