Check your company policy and which states recognize your Alabama permit. If your company has no issue, then it will just be the law. I am not sure what the law is concerning commercial drivers and carry, but for non commercial you are fine so long as the state you are entering recognizes your permit, otherwise you will need a permit from that state. Google it and see, I am sure there is somewhere that covers what the law says about commercial drivers and carry :)

All companies and most shippers/receivers have a no weapons policy.

If you're found to violate that policy, you will lose your job - and probably not be able to get another one.

That aside - there are no federal or state laws that prohibit a firearm in a CMV , as long as laws regarding firearms in motor vehicles are observed. This includes whatever reciprocity that comes with your Alabama CMV.

But keep in mind - there are some states that are going to be ILLEGAL to possess a handgun in REGARDLESS. So, even if you decide to violate company policy and keep a firearm in your truck - get caught in a state where you are NOT LEGAL to have one - the penalties will be far worse than just losing your job (which will also happen, regardless).

Regard less of state or federal laws, any company may, and most do, have a no weapons on our trucks policy. If you think you know better, fine, But if the company discovers you are breaking their policy, look for another job.

Many warehouse gateways have signs that say "No Weapons". Same situation. If a weapon is discovered on your tractor, they may notify the company and ban you from their warehouses as well.
