So I just started up with Werner not too long ago. I got m sometime and they're leniant on it too which is pretty cool. But now I can't seem to get a load away from the house. I've been waiting around and they can't seem to find anything. Anyone ever have that problem with Werner? Hate to admit it but when I was with Swift I was always moving, I mean I can't complain about being at home, but I need to make money too.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

People who are at home are normally the very last people to get assigned a load.. You don't want people sitting who are away from their families while people who are sitting home are sent after freight.

On top of the fact that you're at home you have to also consider that we're still in the slowest season of the year and apparently you're new to the company. Put those three factors together and you're the last person in the company that's getting assigned a load. And now it's the weekend so you have that also. Four things.

So hang in there and enjoy your time at home. This really has nothing to do with Werner. Under the circumstances you'd be the last dispatched at any company you worked for. That's truckin.

How long have you been waiting?

The problem may be that you are in a low freight area. Keep in contact with your fleet manager and make sure they have you listed as available for a load.

They shouldn't keep you sitting too long. I've had them send me on repositioning loads, just deadheading to a location with more freight.

Deadhead:

To drive with an empty trailer. After delivering your load you will deadhead to a shipper to pick up your next load.
