If your heart's set on Maverick, then you've got to wait your turn. Otherwise, put together your list of companies, with #2 (after Mav.) at the top, and so on.
Work your way through hiring with "everybody" until it's decision time for each. At that point you may have a few days on each company that you can wait before jumping in.
Then look at the two or three that have green lights for you, and make your decision.
Flatie, besides those things like distance to the school + terminals and road training policies, they will all get you into a truck. These people who hesitate between company A and B just don't know how to make a big decision. You'll do fine in any of them.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

So I'm in the waiting list at Maverick for the schedule of my orientation. I got approved like 3.5 weeks ago and up til now they put me in the waiting list coz they only put 12 students per class, so that put me in the hole. Now, I spoke to Roadmaster School here in Tulsa and they offered financing..
I'm starting to get frustrated now and trying to look for other option instead of just sitting and do nothing. Honestly, theres more company thats waiting for my response ( Swift , Millis , Celadon ) to when I wanna start so Idk.
Tomorrow the Admin Rep will all of my info and let me know if I will qualify for the financing option.
Advantage is the school is just couple of miles away to where I live. I can choose weekend for 8 weeks and continue my full time job. Once I'm in school I will submit more application for prehire like Melton , TMC , McElroy etc for employment. I am sure those company offers tuition reimbursement and won't lock me up for a contract. I like flatbedding so much and would really like to start out to a reputable company.
Any advice? I just don't really like to sit here and wait...

What Exactly Is A Pre-Hire Letter?
Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.
We have an excellent article that will help you Understand The Pre-Hire Process.
A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment
The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.
