What Cargo Securment tips do you have to prevent something like this from happening?
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
From what I read about the incident the driver had to hard break to not hit a 4 wheeler driving like 4 wheelers do and it cost a man his life. I wish they policed the 4 wheelers like they do the big trucks
Prayers for his family and friends
I don't see any headache rack on there. All of our trucks have the big heavy aluminum headache rack. Not sure but one could have saved his live. A sleeper cab isn't much protection obviously when hauling steel on a flatbed.

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Sorry to hear and prayers are with his family!

Can you post your source for this? The article linked here says:
He was traveling west on U.S. 20 when the incident took place and investigators haven’t determined why he had to stop suddenly. No other vehicles were involved.
In any case, I hope he rests in peace. Kind thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
A terrible sight. Prayers for his friends and family. Be careful out there.
Well, unless they had been removed in the process of cleanup before the photo was taken, there was not nearly enough securement on the top layer. I only see 3-4 straps. I also do not see any edge protection on the steel. I would have had 3 straps in the first 10' but that is just me.
