I'm starting to explore some options and would be really interested in a dedicated run , and was wondering what the best way to find them was. I've searched online and not many were coming up, but when I called a couple companies that weren't advertising they had plenty of open spots.

So any advice on the best ways to search them out would be great :) thanks

Dedicated Run:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Logan, my experience is that often these dedicated runs are promoted to drivers within a company who have consistently proven themselves as highly productive and easy to work with. I work a dedicated account, and generally, when we get a new driver in here they were already working for us but were approached by someone in management that offered the position to them.

I suggest you let your manager know that you are interested in a dedicated run , or if you also want to switch companies then start contacting companies you are interested in and let the recruiter know you're experienced and looking for a dedicated account to serve.

My friend started with Prime and after a year went to old dominion... he runs walmart dedicated routes. Been doing it a few years and loved it. Idk if their hiring policy is still the same. As old school said they might hire from within now but it's worth a shot.

I always think the devil you know is better than the one you don't so I would do as suggested and try my own compnay first. Grass isn't always greener
