A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
I drive for Interstate , and from what I understand, hiring of rookie drivers is done on a case-by-case basis with preference and emphasis given to recently discharged veterans changing careers out of the service. Interstate itself has no CDL training program, but there are several driver trainers.
My advice would be to contact a recruiter and ask him or her for more details.
