Very experienced means shes old fashioned and set in her ways of doing things how they were done many years ago.
No need to do anything like that now with automatic, self-adjusting slack adjusters. Just be sure to do a tug test and test the brakes before you take off.

I was talking with a driver who is very experienced and she said that she pushes in one brake... presses the brake pedal for 6 seconds then switches brakes and repeats. Doing this will create all kinds of sounds as the brakes "adjust to put the brakes of both vehicles into alignment with each other". Says she does this with every new trailer. Never heard of it.
I had 3 trainers... asked a couple more who never heard of this. Is this real? I tried it and yes lots of noise but I didn't feel anything different while driving
