Brett, I am consistently having to log back in. I am using IE10 and if I close my browser and then open, I have to re-log in. Is this how it should be? Thanks

Google Chrome dose the same.

Different browsers handle it differently. I'm using Google Chrome on Linux and I can restart my browser or restart my entire computer and I stay logged in. Your browser probably has a setting that will prevent it from clearing the credentials when you close it but you'd have to go through the settings to figure it out. I'm working on a way to recognize people and allow them to log back in without entering their password or anything.

I use Firefox on my desktop and safari on my iPad. They are both hit and miss.

Make your login cookie expire in 2025 :)

I've had the same set of windows open in Chrome for several days now while I work thru the training program because I got tired of having to re-log in.

Brett,

I've reviewed the cookies that are stored on my system from this site, and the one that I think may be causing us to re-log every time we close the browser is __utmc, which expires when we close the browser.

If you're able to adjust this to 24 hours or something and drop a reply here or something, I can check it out since I'm spending over half my awake time on this site :)

Above is a link to the pastebin I made with the 4 cookies worth of information for you to review. This is using the latest Chrome browser on Windows 7 64bit.

If only I could edit a previous post, I wouldn't look like a maniac posting so many times in a row.

www.truckingtruth.com also has one cookie on my computer and uses local storage for two other things which I am assuming are cached contents. However, I found a PHPSESSID that also expires when I close the browser. This may or may not be the culprit, but I am personally still leaning toward the __utmc cookie.

I'm using PHP sessions - that's the one that expires or gets tossed out when certain browsers close. I've got a plan to improve the system. It's just a matter of finding time.
