I have never heard of such a thing. The last phase of my schooling, and most others was to take the State Exam. Pre Trip, Backing and Road Test. Is this a Massachusetts State law or what? What State would require 160 hours of schooling and then let your new found skills deteriorate for 30 days before you test out. Am I missing something here?

Are you saying that you need to have your permit for at least 30 days prior to taking the State Exam? How long was your schooling?

Why do you have to wait for a month? That is the part I do not understand. Who told you you had to wait? The School? The State of Massachusetts? Please elaborate a bit so we can help you find an answer to your question.

I had to wait almost a month to take my test because the local community college had booked all the slots at the DMV.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
